Description
"The Volkswagen Type Two was introduced in 1950 as a multi-variant utility vehicle, known as the Transporter, Kombi or Microbus (depending on body type) and was devised as an evolution of the Volkswagen Type One, the original Beetle. The first generation of these versatile vehicles, named the T1, was produced with distinctive split-screens from 1950 until 1967. Only two models were originally offered, the Kombi and the Commercial, the Microbus was added in May 1950, and was joined by the Deluxe Microbus in June 1951.
This wonderful example was manufactured in 1960 and first registered in 1961. A restoration was completed in 2014, at a huge expense, resulting in the fabulous campervan we have here today. The body was completely resprayed in August 2018 with a new starter motor and driveshaft seal fitted and replaced in the same year. The cupboards are walnut and stained costing approximately £1,647 and a stainless steel sink with cold water feed tank was fitted. The rock & roll bed and front bench seat are upholstered and piped with white and red leather. A Blaupunkt Essen vintage radio with FM spindle fit and MP3 upgrade were fitted at a further cost of £423. A two ring burner stove with Calor Gas and a full internal electric pack finish off the works which have been carried out to a lovely standard and make this camper ready to be used this summer. A great classic for those wishing to be the coolest on the beach this year!"
