Produced in only 100 copies worldwide (only for the French market), the 944 Rothmans is an exclusive edition of the 944. The creation of this car follows the victory of the Porsche-Rothmans at the 24 hours of Le Mans. The English cigarette brand has once again partnered with Porsche, but this time to create a special edition of the 944. This one, only painted in white, is given ""Porsche"" mentions on the side skirts, a red, blue and gold watermark, in the colors of the English tobacco company, 15-inch ""telephone"" wheels as well as fog lamps integrated in the front bumper (optional on the standard 944). Inside, the Porsche gets a beautiful ""tennis"" interior, a numbered plaque, bucket seats and light grey carpeting. Mechanically, the car is equipped with front and rear anti-roll bars as well as sports shock absorbers and the 2.5L inline 4-cylinder engine developing 163 horsepower, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The car we are presenting was first registered on September 17, 1984. It carries the number 38. The paint, the underbody and the body are in good general condition for a car of its age. It has not been damaged, even if there is a slight deformation on the front bumper. Inside, the upholstery is relatively clean. Only two marks are visible on the driver's seat. As for the dashboard, it does not escape the disease of these cars and cracks slightly. The steering wheel, with a patina of use, is still good. The functional yellow meters take us straight back to the 80s. Under the hood, the 2.5L 4-cylinder engine starts without any problem and even sounds great, thanks to the stainless steel exhaust system that was installed. The car has 4 almost new Bilstein shocks. The car comes with a maintenance booklet showing a clear history. It should be noted that a major service was performed in 2017 as a result of the car being disabled. Moreover, an important file of invoices accompanies it, proof of the care that was given to it. A technical control confirms that the 944 Rothmans runs without any problem. Clearly, this beautiful car is ready to hit the road, heading for the gatherings where it will be all the rage, or simply to the French countryside where it will make its 163 horses sing."
