Description
The R107 built between 1972 - 1989 became the third generation of the popular SL range manufactured by Mercedes-Benz. During its seventeen year period of production the R107 was powered by eight different engines and four different transmissions. When new, these cars were advertised as having 240bhp which propelled the car to a top speed of 140 mph via the 4 speed automatic transmission. The 5 litre V8 engine was more powerful and more economical than the model it replaced adding to its desirability.
This example, finished in Red with tan half leather / cloth interior, comes with a history file showing that the car had minor body repairs totalling £2,300 in 1989 having dents and rust attended to and also a fresh coat of paint. A year later, the car had a new transmission, with invoices to testify to this work being undertaken.
An export certificate stamped in 1994 shows that the car travelled across the Irish Sea to reside in Ireland and Northern Ireland for the next chapter of its life, with many subsequent Irish MOT certificates included in the history file.
Offered with a current V5C and MOT until January 2015 "SVR 385W" is ready to be enjoyed by a new owner.
