Description
A gorgeous 1981 DMC DeLorean DMC-12! John DeLorean’s lifetime project, designed by Italdesign’s Giorgetto Giugiaro, was in production in Dunmarry, Northern Ireland for only two years. The DMC DeLorean DMC-12 reached iconic status in the 1985 Bob Gale movie ‘Back to the Future’. This car was ordered from new by the Saginaw, Michigan based Sarrow Datsun Inc. at the beginning of 1981. This 3-owner car has only clocked up an authentic 16,905 miles. The American title deed is marked ‘A’ for ‘Actual Mileage’ officially confirming this low-mileage. It has become more and more difficult to find a low-mileage, manual DeLorean. From day-1 the cars’ history has been kept. The original purchase order for $ 26,175 is there as well as amongst other items; every booklet, the car wallet containing the service book and owner’s manual, loads of invoices and even the original stainless steel polishing kit! Of course, besides its international fame, the DeLorean is characterized by the brushed stainless steel body and the “Gull-Wing’ doors. The undamaged bodywork is as straight as they come. The very well-maintained interior has a wonderful patina. This car has its original, matching numbers, V6 engine and has the factory-fitted manual gearbox in contrast to most that were supplied with the optional automatic transmission. This is truly a unique vehicle with rarely found low-mileage and a gigantically extensive history.
