A Rare Opportunity to Acquire a Benchmark Giulietta Spider

The Alfa Romeo Guiletta and Guilia Spiders represent Alfa's trademark shape of the 1950s and 1960s. Their understated but charming lines and nimble, responsive platform have long made them an "all-time" car among Italian auto enthusiasts. Simply put they are an absolute blast to drive and coveted by rally/tour drivers.

Chassis AR167256 displays a condition rarely seen, one which should be considered an education. Purchased new by Richard W. Olsen of Rochester, NY on September 16, 1961 the car would travel the majority of its 27k miles in its early years, evident by a still attached door jamb AMOCO servicing tag dated September 2, 1967 and 25,700 miles. Further evidence that this car was a cherished by its original owner is a AutoRama event like photo found in the glove box and dated Feb 1971. The car has remained in the same family since, now registered to the Mr. Olsen's son also residing in NY.

Today the car remains a preservation masterpiece; the paint has a correct patina with consistent paint meter readings throughout (pictured), with only a minor repair evident on the passenger side door. The gaps and shut lines are excellent and the brightwork is in good condition. The original SALCHI paint sticker remains attached and the PininFarina body number "263" is found stamped on the hood, rear bonnet, and trunk floor. All glass is original as is the soft top and plastic window which shows its age. The originality theme continues on the interior which remains in stunning condition with firm seat padding wrapped in excellent vinyl, well preserve carpeting/mats, and vinyl door panels.

Perhaps the most impressive details are found in the engine bay which retains original clamps, wiring, and hardware including the Lucas equipment, SOLEX carburetor, airbox, I.P.R.A radiator and 8/60 dated ZF steering rack. The underside of the car remains intact with original undercoating and hardware. The floors remain excellent with abnormally straight and solid jack points at all four corners.

While the Guilietta is not currently running the motor turns freely by hand. An excellent example to perform a thorough mechanical servicing and enjoy in as-is preserved condition.
