There’s never a dull moment when Jochen Mass is around, whether he’s playing a practical joke or regaling you with stories from his time at the frontline in motorsport’s most evocative era. Mass raced a plethora of different cars, from Alfa Romeo and BMW saloons (he even steered the legendary Zakspeed Ford Capri!) to single-seaters and mighty Group C prototypes. It was in the latter that he found his true calling – in 1989, Mass returned the Silver Arrows to winning ways when, together with Manuel Reuter and Stanley Dickens, he won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the Sauber Mercedes C9. We’re thrilled to announce that Jochen will be joining our host J. Philip Rathgen for the third instalment of Classic Driver Live, tonight (9 April) on our Instagram channel at 1900CET/1800BST.
