Seismic shift
Boasting all the most desirable characteristics of today’s ‘best of the best’ automotive gems — namely rarity, outstanding condition, and low-mileage — ‘Exclusively Porsche – The 964 Collection’ is spearheaded by a 1993 Porsche Carrera RS 3.8, one of 55 built and showing just 7,000 kilometres on the clock (est. 1.25–1.5m US dollars), and a never-raced Ferrari Yellow 1993 Carrera RSR 3.8 (1.2–1.4m dollars). Other rarities include a 1993 Turbo S ‘Leichtbau’ (1–1.2m dollars) and one of the rarest production Porsches in existence, a one-of-10 Turbo S X83 ‘Flachbau’ (500,000–650,000 dollars). Hindsight is, of course, a wonderful thing. But, as RM Car Specialist Oliver Camelin will testify, foresight is even better — we must commend the enthusiast who assembled this incredible collection of Porsches. If it performs anything like similar cars have in recent years at auction, expect a slew of Stuttgart-centric headlines from Amelia Island in March.
