This example has been fully restored from head to toe in recent years. The car received a new Spyder chassis and has been rebuilt and upgraded from front to back. The car has disc brakes all round, a five-speed transmission, a roll cage, Purlin 807 lower block, Tilton racing clutch with lightweight flywheel, 45mm double Weber carburettors, the then optional twin fuel tanks, new tires, a 13 revolutions oil cooler, new Pirelli CZ36 tires

in the correct sizes and finally the complete engine and transmission were overhauled. The result is a beautiful Lotus Europa that is also very fast. The engine delivers 150 hp on the roller bench at maximum revs. A video of the Dyno session is available that not only gives a good picture of how well the engine runs, but also gives a good picture of the beautiful engine sound. This is how a four-cylinder should sound.

The body of the car looks beautiful. The plastic body is in top condition and is painted in the ultimate Lotus color scheme: Lotus Yellow with green striping and stickers. The wheels are painted black and give the car an extra aggressive look. The car simply looks exactly like a Lotus Europa should. The exhaust protrudes right in the middle of the rear bumper and produces a beautiful sound. Items such as the lighting and striping are all in very good condition.

The interior is equipped with a full roll cage that not only improves safety but also contributes to the rigidity of the overall car. The interior is covered with black carpets and black leather on the sports seats. The great thing about a Lotus is that you attract the car, as it were. The seating position is therefore very good. The car has a nice small steering wheel that is covered with Alcantara. Although the interior of the car is not overly spacious, quite by modern standards, it is a place where you enjoy sitting and have enough space to enjoy driving the car. The poker is exactly where you expect it, the pedals are nicely arranged, the steering wheel is exactly where it should be, the counters are easy to read, so we can only say that the ergonomics of the Lotus Europa are very good. .

The technology has been completely overhauled. Chapman's engineers still had to work hard during the development. The Renault technique was aimed at being mounted in the front of the car and by placing the combination of engine and transmission to the rear, they came up with a total package consisting of an engine and four reverse gears! This was rectified by turning the crown and pinion and the car has more forward gears than reverse. In this case, a modified Renault five-speed transmission was fitted. After all the work and overhaul, the 1.5 engine delivers 150 hp and makes this Lotus Europa with an empty weight of only 635 kilos an absolute rocket. But as every enthusiast of the brand knows, the Lotus Europa is not built to just drive straight ahead. Straights are just a necessary evil on the way to the next bend. The car has double whisbones at the front and has fantastic steering behaviour. The brakes and chassis have all been upgraded as described earlier and function excellently. This Lotus Europa not only looks better than new, but also drives like one.
