Fiat 1100 E Coupé Zagato 1950 LHD ex-1954-MM

I) The start :
How charming to find in the documentation file of this Fiat 1100 Zagato sportscar the letter dating from April 1954 addressed to AutoClub di Brescia, in which Dr. Lanfranco Fontana, member of the Terni section of the Automobile Club d’Italia, expresses his wish to participate at the 1954 Mille Miglia with his Fiat 1100 E Zagato.
The start of this fabulous adventure comes only a couple of weeks later on the 1-st of May 1954 through a nice black & white photo where we witness the brave Dr Lanfranco Fontana at the steering wheel of the Fiat Zagato wearing starting number 341 on the starting podium in Brescia.

II) Further MM adventures
In 2011 this Fiat 1100 Zagato is discovered by me in Italy. A deal is quickly struck.
At the Techno Classica fair of Essen/Germany a Belgian customer of ours is immediately seduced by the charm of this elegant Coupé with very interesting Mille Miglia history.
Our customer participates with this Fiat 1100 E Coupé Zagato no less than EIGHT times at the 1000Miglia: In 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019!
Being well prepared by our classic car workshop and followed-up by our technical assistance team: Every time successfully (Except of a break down because of engine problems)!
Luckily this rare and powerful Fiat 1100S engine underwent last year a complete overhaul by a well reputed specialist in Italy (very well documented).
