Beschreibung
The gentleman’s rally car.
The Austin Healey 3000 MKIII second phase was the panicle of the Austin Healey range of cars, it is always said the last of a model range is usually the best. The major change to the cars were the height of the rear of the car to stop the exhaust bottoming out over bumps and a few minor details like a heater being fitted and over drive, this was a major leap forward.
With 16,322 Phase 2 cars being built between 1964 to 1968 and a large number going to the US in left hand drive format.
Austin Healey has always been in the limelight off race and rally through the years with some very influential people behind the wheels of such cars with some marvelous trophy’s being won over the years.
The Austin Healey 300 was to carry on the tradition of the past with a few works cars being built for the RAC rally (BRX 852B) and the Spa Sofia Liege Rally (BMO 93B) and of course (67 ARX) which went through a number of hands and events over the early years. The list goes on and on.
This gentleman’s Austin Healey 3000 MKIII Phase 2 was built in September 1967 and delivered new to the USA, where it was used sparingly until returned to the UK in 1992 in very good order with little use.
The new owner purchased the car and the focus was to build a gentleman’s rally car as close to the real Works cars but with all the benefits of a full-blown rally car and the the weekend comforts.
Professionally built to similar specification as the original works cars to the highest standards with the creature comforts of under floor insulation, carpets, more comfortable leather seat from a Jaguar XJS, full flow side vents air flow but with the option of rally seats, roll bar and the full fire extinguisher system.
The sweet noise from the triple 45 DCOE original Italian Webbers to the straight cut gearbox and the side pipe exhaust system, the car is a true spine chiller, if you like driving with the hair on the back of your neck standing up, this is the car for you!
The car also comes with a factory style hardtop, full sump guards, full fire extinguisher system, duel fuel pumps, duel coils, and lots of worthwhile must have spares.
