CARTIER "PENDULETTE DE VOYAGE
A REPETITION MINUTES"
Cartier, Paris, No. 4014/315/HSA 662 . Made circa 1910.
Very fine and very rare, minute-repeating, gold on silver, enamel and
rose-cut diamond-set, 8-day going desk clock.
Rectangular gold on silver, satine engine-turned on all sides, white
champleve enameled borders with fluted edges, the bezel decorated
with white enamel "pearls", side panels centred with small applied rose
cut diamond-set stars on white enamel reserves, shuttered winding
holes, cylindrical moonstone repeat button, raised on a carved and
polished agate base.
Convex white enamel with dauphine numerals, outer gold painted
minute track. Rose-cut diamond set arrow hands.
Gilt brass by Nocturne, rectangular with going barrel, frosted and
gilt platform with straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation
balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator,
repeating on gongs activated by depressing the push-piece at the top.
