Gilt full plate two tier fusee movement, formerly with verge escapement, now converted to cylinder, formerly quarter striking on large bell in the case and playing a tune on the hour on a nest of three bells by means of pinned barrel and six hammers, separately wound alarm train, going train is present, but striking and music trains are incomplete, white enamel dial with chapters represented by Chinese characters, subsidiary dials for continuous seconds, fifth seconds, alarm and age of moon, blued hands, bezel set with red and blue paste, the case chased with exotic birds and foliage, the winding squares concealed behind a hinged silver panel enameled with a scene of cranes in a marsh
