An extraordinary, original & matching numbers 1963 356B T6 Super 90 Cabriolet. One of 600 produced.

Chassis 158234 was supplied new to the USA on April 5th 1963 and was finished in Ruby Red with black leather interior and fitted with the following accessories; Blaupunkt Radio, Antenna, Speaker and Luggage Rack. ​

The car had two owners while living in La Jolla California before being sold to famed Porsche collector Ernst Schuster in 1987. The car remained in Ernst’s collection in Florida until being purchased by the current owner through Mark Leonard of Grand Prix Classics in La Jolla, California in 2000. By that that time the car had been fully restored and had a colour change to its current period-correct Bali Blue with black interior.

Our client, a former Le Mans team owner and driver, brought the car to London where it was sent immediately to Siggi Brunn in Germany where the engine was rebuilt by Joest and the car’s mechanicals were tested and any deficiencies remedied while maintaining originality. In 2005/6, the car was fully stripped and given a bare-metal respray in the same Bali Blue by Normandale. Initially stored as part of his collection, it was re-commissioned and used as a daily driver in 2017. Since then, it has been regularly serviced by Wren Classics in the UK. Cosmetically, new carpets, seats, trim and hood were fitted in 2017. Since then, the car was given a full suspension, brake and gearbox rebuild, new tyres, blasted and painted wheels with a final rolling road test with invoices in excess of £25k in evidence over the past four years.
