Well, then suddenly the war is over and your government asks you if you want to start exporting cars as soon as possible because the survival of the country depends on it. Not an easy task because there was no possibility of developing cars for more than 5 years. Fortunately for Jaguar, they entered wartime with a rock-solid reputation and a good product portfolio. So they could immediately start production of the Mark IV after the war. This example was ordered new by Max Hoffman in New York. The simple fact that the car was a right-hand drive car proved to be no problem for the first owner in the United States. Since then, the car has only been owned by enthusiasts who have always looked after it very well and participated in fantastic Jaguar events and touring rallies.

The car has been fully nut & bolt restored in the recent past and therefore looks beautiful. The Mark IV is a beautiful car in all forms, but the elegance of the Drophead Coupé is truly unimaginably elegant. The body of the car is beautifully cared for. The panels are all beautiful and have correct fits. The chrome on the body is beautifully cared for and looks like it could be pulled through a ring. The car still wears its original colour. The paint was very well sprayed during the restoration and therefore looks beautiful. The convertible top is of beautiful heavy quality and fits well everywhere. The hood is of course easy to operate as you would expect from a luxury British car.

The interior was completely reupholstered during the restoration with a great sense of originality. For example, the interior is upholstered in the original colour scheme with beautiful materials and the leather is processed as Jaguar used to do. The lavish burr walnut wood has also been restored and looks like it could be tampered with. The instruments and controls all look great and function as they should. The carpets have also been completely renewed and fit beautifully everywhere.

The technology consists of the rock-solid 3.5-litre in-line six, which in this case is coupled to a five-speed manual transmission from a later Jaguar. Thanks to this upgrade, the Mark IV is a much more excellent travel companion on longer distances. The chassis and brakes were completely renewed during the restoration and contributed to the good handling of the “Big Cat”. The engine runs beautifully through the revs and does its job wonderfully quietly. The Mark IV may look like an almost pre-war design, but the handling is very modern thanks to the enormous engineering power of Jaguar.

The Jaguar will be delivered including some general information and history about this car. The car is in beautiful condition, both technically and optically and is ready for many years of beautiful open Jaguar driving pleasure.
