HONDA RS 250 RF 1988 * TONY SCOTT AND CARL FOGARTY *

The Honda RS 250 debut again after 20 years on 1985 with class 250 and the results were immediately impressive with great mechanics features starting from the Vtwin engine 2 strokes with liquid cooling system that was able to develop more than 100 horse power.
This incredible bike demonstrated already on ’85 the competitive nature winning the Pilots World Championship.

The RS 250 was driven not only in the World Championship but also on the National Championships including the one across the Channel and the really famous race Tourist Trophy of Isle of Man.

This RS in object was developed e followed on the UK competition, including the TT from the Britain team of the famous Tony Scott. From the documentation in our hands it is possible to see that the bike was driven from the legendary Carl Fogarty on TT e probably in some other competitions as: Manx GP, North West 200, UlsterGP, Southern 100.
It is possible to read on engine, forks the cuttings of the factory Tony Scott and the autograph of Foggy on fuel tank.

La Honda RS 250 vide l’esordio nelle competizioni nel 1985 e segnò il ritorno alle competizioni in 250 dopo circa vent’anni di assenza. Furono subito evidenti le caratteristiche competitive che portarono a svariati successi portando già alla vittoria del titolo mondiale piloti proprio nell’anno del debutto. La predominante caratteristica di tali successi era il motore due tempi a V raffreddato a liquido in grado di sviluppare oltre 100 cavalli.

Questa moto si prestò anche ad essere utilizzata in svariate competizioni parallele al mondiale come i vari campionati nazionali ed il famoso Tourist Trophy sull’isola dia Man.

Proprio questa motocicletta fu sviluppata e seguita nelle competizioni nazionali di oltremanica incluso il TT dal team britannico del famoso preparatore Tony Scott. Dalla documentazione in possesso inoltre si evince come la stessa fu guidata proprio dal mitico Carl Fogarty nel Tourist Trophy e probabilmente in altre competizioni secondarie rispetto al mondiale come: Manx GP, North West 200, Ulster GP, Southern 100.
Si notino le incisioni di motore, forcelle riportanti il marchio della factory Tony Scott e l’autografo del pilota Fogarty sul serbatoio.
