The design was updated to include fixed headlights rather than the retractable style and the new front bumper and grille was restyled to bear resemblance to the F355 and 456 to include new turn signals and fog lamps. The rear was also renewed to incorporate round taillights, similar to those of the F355, which would become a feature Ferrari design for years to come.The interior received several updates such as a modernised steering wheel, adjustable aluminium pedals, refinements to the air conditioning along with updated trim. A new five-spoke wheel design was applied to complete the refreshed look. Beneath the surface there was also a number of tweaks to the mechanicals, such as gas-filled shock absorbers and a Bosch ABS system. The engine remained unchanged in cubic capacity and fuel injection but received internal upgrades along with a new stainless steel exhaust which increased horsepower to 440bhp.
