Description

The "Subaru 360" released by Fuji Heavy Industries (currently SUBARU) in 1958 was a mini vehicle that embodies the "national car concept" as a highly practical vehicle. After that, competition in the mini vehicle market intensified, and excellent models were announced one after another by each company.

Among them, Subaru pursued more practicality, and this "Subaru R-2" was announced as a successor to the "Subaru 360". It is equipped with an air-cooled 2-stroke 2-cylinder engine in RR, and while the basic structure follows the Subaru 360, it is more practical, such as securing a living space by extending the wheelbase and providing space to put luggage in the front. After undergoing minor changes competing in this market, the lineup of sports versions and water-cooled engine models were released.

This particular car is a "Super Deluxe" model which is the top of the range for "Subaru R-2". The odometer displays 43,579km. The engine is the same as other models, but the interior is equipped with more high-tech meters and radio. High-quality leather is used for the seats and lining, providing luxury comfort.

This individual has become immobile after being in storage for many years, and its exterior has deteriorated over time. With proper restoration the car has the potential to run smoothly. The vehicle comes with genuine spare tyres, original manuals and service booklets.
