Description

"The Sunbeam Alpine was launched in 1953 as the first vehicle from Sunbeam-Talbot to bear the Sunbeam name alone, since the 1935 takeover of Sunbeam and Talbot by the Rootes Group. Ken Howes and Jeff Crompton were tasked with doing a complete redesign of the Alpine in 1956 with the goal of producing a dedicated sports car aimed principally at the US market. The Series V Alpine was produced from 1965 through to 1968, the final version having a new five-bearing, 1725cc engine with twin Zenith-Stromberg semi-downdraught carburettors producing 93bhp.
This particular example is presented in traditional Old English White with a black interior and a black manual folding hood. The car sits on a set of Minilite wheels and the interior enjoys a walnut dashboard, wood steering wheel and its lively 1725cc engine is mated to a four-speed gearbox. This is the last in the series of these highly popular and pretty little British sports cars and are a delight to drive. This example is offered at no reserve and we are sure will be huge amounts of fun for the new owner."
