Model History
This little sports car was often named a “baby Corvette” due to its looks, which resembled the famous American sports car. Opel GT was launched in 1968, with first 100 examples being handmade. Under the bonnet there was a 1,1-litre engine developing 67 BHP, or a more powerful, 101 BHP 1,9-litre unit. The power was sent to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual gearbox or a 3-speed automatic. Right now, most desirable cars are those from the first, handmade production batch, as well as those equipped with a 1,1-litre engine.
Vehicle History
Opel GT offered by Ardor Auctions is a car which enraptures with its unique, classic silhouette. The car was shipped over to Poland from the United States, where its body was repainted. Currently it requires some minor tweaks. Despite a few shortcomings, the interior of the car is very well preserved and matches the overall appearance of the car. This Opel is still being driven today and it has a valid Polish MOT. Its current owner has had the carburettor refurbished, as well as filters and vital fluids changed. This Opel GT could be used as a 3rd or 4th car in the collection, as well as a daily driver for a fresh classic car enthusiast. The car is not registered as a historic vehicle.
