Model History
Under the bonnet of the 912 one would find a four cylinder engine of 1582cc, and an output of 90 horsepower sent to the rear wheels via a 4 or 5-speed gearbox. It was manufactured between 1965-1969 and 32 000 cars left the factory, all bodies combined. The 912 model range was introduced to fill the gap between the leaving 356 and the newly presented 911 with 6 cylinder engine, which performance and price were higher than the 912. Two body variants were available – coupe and targa. Despite its four cylinder engine, the car looked like a 911, which was a great deal for Porsche clients looking for entry level cars.
Vehicle History
Presented at the national stadium auction Porsche 912 Targa is a very interesting project car for someone looking for a complete vehicle, with a good body in need of restauration. The car was sold first to the United States, however it has been already some years it was exported to Poland. One of the main advantages of this car is its matching numbers engine, for this moment taken out from the car. The interior is in need of complete restauration, also because one of the previous owners applied a wooden panel on the dashboard which was of quite controversial quality. Another interesting fact – it is one of the 100 last 912 Targa ever manufactured.
