Our history
Time flies and now we have been owned for 90 years.
Founded by Herrmann and Mathilde Kühner, one of the first gas stations in the area was built. There was also the trade in sewing machines and
NSU bicycles, through the nearby NSU Neckarsulm plant.
At the beginning of 1950, daughter Hilde and her husband Heinz Koch moved the location to its current location on the edge of the town of Kirchhausen.
This allowed the company to expand and expand. The gas station was also moved here. Hilde's parents also opened the “Löwen” restaurant with guest rooms on the same site.
Heinz Koch was a motorcycle racer for NSU for many years and now brought this passion into the company. The Koch company expanded to include a motorcycle dealership with NSU motorcycles.
Brand agreements with FIAT, LANCIA and FERRARI were later added.
But the next generations also mean changes; and so Horst Koch, son of Heinz and Hilde, took over the family business in 1983 and added the motorcycle trade with MottoGuzzi.
In the meantime, he also converted 250 FIAT Pandas into convertibles, as well as one
6 wheel panda. Horst Koch has been passionate about Italian brands since he was born, but when the factory regulations had too much influence on his freedom as a self-employed person, he terminated all contracts and handed over all brands in 2000.
Now he benefited from the fact that he had been an enthusiastic classic car fan for several years
and driver, and had also learned to screwdrivers, with a master's certificate.
Horst Koch built up contacts and friendships in the classic car and pre-war scene over the 90 years, which he did through his LANCIA Stratos,
FIAT 8V “OTTO VU” and its BENTLEY 4 1/2 liter quickly succeeded.
He then converted the car dealership into a classic car dealership with a workshop, which seemed quite daring at the time.
The name “Koch Klassik Automobil GmbH” came into being.
From today's perspective, this was probably the only right decision in the situation at the time.
After all, it has now been over 20 years as a pure dealer for vintage and collector vehicles.
Horst and Helga Koch's marriage resulted in their daughter Linda, who joined the company in 2018 and therefore represents the 4th generation and future of the company.
