"The 1964 to 1967 FC Victor was marketed as the Victor 101, the name arising from the claim that there were '101 improvements' over the FB. The sporting version of the FC Victor was the VX 4/90 which was developed from the FB series and offered a 90bhp, 1600cc engine with an alloy cylinder head, higher compression ratio and twin-Zenith 34IV carburettors giving the car almost sports car performance, supplied as it was with stiffer suspension, uprated springs and shock absorbers and additional instruments. Vauxhall took the VX4/90 seriously enough to offer an optional limited-slip differential, but few cars were ordered with it. Victor FC models had racked up 238,000 sales by late 1967 when the 'Coke bottle'-shaped FD replaced it.
This extremely rare Vauxhall FC VX 4/90 is in very good rust free condition throughout, and comes with a large amount of history and invoices going back many years, including the original sales brochure and service book which is stamped up to 51,895 miles and dated 3rd November 1972. The paintwork, finished in grey with green side stripe, is very good as is the original black interior. The overall condition of this car would indicate the odometer reading of just under 65,000 miles to be correct. It was purchased in 2018 by a specialist hire company who supply vehicles to the film and television industry and used as a prop in period productions. Being utilised for this kind of work has ensured it has been maintained to be reliable and kept in period. This VX 4/90 is supplied with a UK V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in November 2021 and a file containing the history, service book and sales brochure. This is an excellent car; ordinary Vauxhall FC’s in this condition are very rare, to find an FC VX 4/90 near impossible."
