Model History
Introduced in 1980, the new Silver Spirit had the hard task to replace with at least the same success the first Rolls-Royce with monocoque body. Its sister construction is the grand Bentley, which had many model variations like: Eight Mulsanne or Turbo R. It was manufactured between 1918 and 1989, and with the beginning of the 90s it was modernised. Under the bonnet one would find an eight cylinder engine of 6.75 L offdisplacement. It was the first Rolls-Royce with a hiding system for the flying lady, and it also had a self levelling rear suspension for the first time.
Vehicle History
Presented at the national stadium auction Rolls-Royce Silver spirit was manufactured in 1984. Its current owner bought it six years ago and conducted a series offrestoration works on the body and on the chassis. Outside on both sides of the car a fresh paint was applied. As of today, only the elements that were not repainted need some attention: like hood or the bonnet. The roof of the car is vynil covered and also needs some attention. Inside the Rolls-Royce looks outstanding because it’s interior had an overhaul and elements like wood panels were restored. The hydraulic system of the rear suspension was also rebuilt and new breaks were fitted to the car. Despite being right hand drive this car can be an interesting proposition for someone looking for a British limousine after a partial restoration.
