Description
"When the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was released to the public in October 1965, the development departments were showing the result of work carried out over a period of some ten years and the largest production volume of any Rolls-Royce. The new models, designed by J.P Blatchley, were technically striking in three ways. A monocoque chassis was used; all wheels were sprung independently and four-wheel disc brakes now ensured stopping power of the sort that had come to be expected in a modern car. Under the bonnet, the V8 engine that had been introduced in the Silver Cloud series was employed.
This superb example is presented in the striking combination of gold over black with a tan leather interior. The car is accompanied by the original service wallet and owner’s handbook. Included within this car's history is a folder showing photographs of its restoration between 2013 and 2015. The last invoice on file is from Royce Service and Engineering in Betchworth who refurbished the suspension, brakes and fuel system at a cost of £3,500. This MoT test exempt, matching numbers Silver Shadow I is a fine example of British workmanship and luxury motoring, still oozing class 49 years after its manufacture."
