Unveiled at the 1994 Geneva Motor Show, the Rolls-Royce Flying Spur is said to be the most powerful car ever manufactured by the British company, being equipped with a turbocharged engine which could produce more than 300 horsepower. The Flying Spur is a limited edition of the Rolls-Royce Silver Spur III. To assure exclusivity, 50 cars were scheduled to be built. It finally became 134 cars.
The Rolls-Royce Flying Spur has no predecessor or successor, but was a model fit beside already available models. It was the first Rolls-Royce with a turbo; basically utilizing the Bentley Turbo R drivetrain that has been rated from 360- to 400-hp.
This stately and immensely elegant Flying Spur is presented in black with a tan Connolly hide interior in which the seats are richly accented with darker piping. Among the appointments are many burled wood accents, picnic tables, rear lighted vanities, rear passenger foot rests, Corniche-style wheels, radio, air conditioning; power windows, steering and four-wheel disc brakes.
This Rolls-Royce Flying Spur looks just as enticing as the day it left the factory. The Flying Spur is certainly a car that provides all the pomp and circumstance associated with the Rolls-Royce name, and with only 134 examples being built over the 1994/1995 model years, this example is ready for regular use from the most discerning driver.
