Description

Noble Auctions are pleased to present this 1972 PORSCHE 2.4E TARGA for auction on www.noble-auctions.com.

Presented here is a freshly restored 1972 2.4E Targa. Not a US import, but a sought after original German delivered car. It is finished in a bare metal, high-quality Hellgelb paintwork, its factory delivered colour.
For the 1972 model, Porsche moved the oil filler to the passenger side rear wing, which made for much easier topping up and engine oil changes. Unfortunately, many petrol station attendants weren’t aware that this was the oil filler and not the fuel filler, resulting in Porsche reverting back to the more unpractical location of the oil filler inside the engine bay. The oil filler flap or, “Ölklappe”, as the 1972 models are known among enthusiasts, have become very sought-after.

The interior of this 911 was retrimmed in, perforated black vinyl, the same materials it left the factory with. It looks very fresh and neat.
The pristine engine bay is home to the matching-numbers mechanical fuel injected 2.4 E engine.

Engine and gearbox are freshly rebuilt, and completely dry. The engine will need some tuning to run optimal, not a surprise since it has only covered around 27km since its restoration, and needs some running in.
Although the 2.4E models produce significantly more horsepower than the base T-models, they have a few less horsepower than the S-models, but since the E produces even more torque than the S, it was the faster version of the 911 up to 160km/h.
The undercarriage looks like that of a brand new car. There are no leaks.
All suspension rubbers, shock absorbers and brakes are brand new and look like it.

This auction will start closing on March 30th at 7:00 PM.
