Description
To say 1967 marked a pivotal year for the Porsche 911 would be a bit of an understatement. Enthusiasts of the company’s groundbreaking sports car who wanted even greater performance had their wishes granted with the debut of the high-performance S model. The 911 S featured 23% more horsepower as well as an upgraded suspension with adjustable Koni shocks. Meanwhile, those who desired al fresco motoring were delighted with the introduction of the removable-roof Targa body style, initially featuring the zip-out, “soft” rear window. Available in both the Coupe and Targa body styles, with the latter version being exceptionally rare, just 483 S-variant Targas were produced for the 1967 model year.
This 911 2.0 S Targa has just undergone a meticulous, ground-up restoration utilizing respected specialists and materials. The engine was rebuilt by the renowned David Loop European in Monterey, California. The body, which is stated to retain its original panels, was refinished utilizing only Glasurit products, and the original Fuchs wheels were refinished by Harvey Weidman. Each component has been refurbished to correct, factoryfresh condition, down to the steering wheel, wipers, and instruments.
Fitted with sport seats and presented in its original Polo Red color and having seen only break-in miles since the completion of its restoration, this sublime, short-wheelbase 911 S Targa welcomes your thorough inspection and represents a seldom-seen opportunity to acquire a landmark piece of Porsche 911 history in pristine form.
