Description
"Featuring four wheel drive and a 3.6 litre, intercooled engine, derived from the 1998 Le Mans winning GT-1 car, pushing out 420bhp and hitting 60mph in a whisker over four seconds, the Turbo provides genuine supercar performance. The 996 was seen as a more relaxed and usable 911, however, in Turbo guise, the driver would get the best of both worlds; a luxury leather interior with every creature comfort combined with the ability to drop the hammer and reach a top speed of a claimed 190 mph. The 996 Turbo was available with either a purist’s 6-speed manual or a 5-speed tiptronic transmission with revised styling and a wider stance than the naturally aspirated 996 Carreras. The Turbo also came with VarioCam Plus as well as stability management, a necessity with over 400 bhp under your right foot and the ability to not only relax in comfort but make a mockery of the speed limit.
The 996 model is a superb car. Quick, reliable, well-made with a wide range of models on offer, the most iconic is, of course, the Turbo. Manual examples have become extremely collectable with Porsche connoisseurs. First registered on 1st March 2003, this example is offered in the most desirable combination of Piano Black with a black leather interior. The popular online magazine Piston Heads has recently featured this car; singing the praises of the 996 Turbo and its rightful place in the collector market; it is the first water cooled Turbo incarnation of the 911 and this 996 Turbo certainly flies the flag. Recently serviced by Renaissance Sports Cars in Ripley, this Porsche is offered with an MoT test certificate valid until April 2019 and comes with a great history file including all books, European navigation CD's, countless invoices and receipts; it even comes with its original telephone receiver.
The service booklet has been stamped eight times, with the last stamp in April 2018. The car is in exemplary condition throughout; this is sure to be popular with collectors and enthusiasts alike, at some point in their life everyone should aspire to own a 911 Turbo."
