In 1964, Porsche caused a stir in the automotive world when it created one of the most legendary cars in history, the Porsche 911. Wonderfully elegant and marvellously responsive, it was fitted with a flat-six engine. With its sporty styling and gradual curves, its unforgettable round headlamps and high-quality engineering, it was recognised by everyone. Continuing the formula which had contributed to the success of this “serious sports car”, in 1993 the engineers from Stuttgart presented the fourth and final generation with an air-cooled boxer engine. In September 1995, Porsche introduced a new 993 model, the 4S. This was fitted with the new M64/21 engine, which introduced the Varioram system. This evolution of the engine featured a new intake manifold, which increased the power of the 3.6-litre unit to 285bhp. The 4S shared several mechanical components with the Turbo, notably its chassis, lowered suspension and brakes with 4-piston red callipers. Visually, the 4S could be recognised by its 18-inch Cup III wheels, white front indicators and 4S badging at the rear, but above all by its ‘Turbo Look’, which was universally acclaimed.

The model which we are offering is a 993 4S from 1998 in excellent condition, cosmetically and mechanically. Delivered new into the Dutch market, it is one of the 6948 cars built and now has French registration papers.
Our car is distinctive in that it is fitted with the works X51 kit. This kit – offered by the Exclusive department at Porsche – raised the power output of the engine to 300bhp. This gain was achieved by an increase in the engine capacity to 3746cc (exactly the same as for the RS engine). In addition to the X51 kit, our car has an impressive list of options, including sports seats with body-colour backs, a full leather interior, cruise control and Litronic headlamps.
This 993 4S is presented in a splendid Artic Silver finish with an elegant Boxster Red interior, an absolutely sublime colour combination. The replacement service book confirms that the car has been regularly maintained, and it will be sold with its original steering wheel and radio.
This magnificent 911 has everything in its favour to win over the most demanding of collectors, and with such an attractive price estimate, it undoubtedly represents an excellent opportunity.
