Description
Porsche’s 964-generation 911 debuted during the 1989 model year. While appearing similar to the venerable G-series, Porsche claimed the 964 was 85% redesigned, sharing little with its predecessor but its familiar shape. The 964 featured a new 247 hp, 3.6-liter air-cooled, flat-six engine, coil-over suspension and, for the first time in a 911, power steering and anti-lock brakes. Available on rear-wheel drive Carrera 2 models, a newly developed four-speed Tiptronic transmission could function as a conventional automatic, or in manual mode where the driver could switch gears at their discretion.
Finished in Grand Prix White over a Cashmere interior, this 1992 Porsche 964 Carrera 2 is equipped with a Tiptronic transmission, power seats with heat and lumbar support for the driver, electric sliding sunroof, cruise control, onboard computer, and rear window wiper. Sold new through Stevens Creek Porsche of Santa Clara, California, this 964 passed through a small number of owners before being acquired by Rudy Mancinas in May 2012. Maintained within his Porsche collection, this 964 now sports a number of customizations including a Porsche Classic radio, sport steering wheel, armrest, clear turn signals, and color-matched 17" Cup 1 wheels.
Showing approximately 111,000 miles and offered with its books, spare, tire inflator, and documentation, this 964 Carrera 2 is a tidy example that will surely provide many more miles of motoring pleasure to its next owner.
