Guide price: £20000 - £25000.

One of 122 ‘Superdry Edition' Morgan 3-wheelers built

Driven by Charles and Kiera Morgan in the 2012 Gumball Rally across the USA, New York to Los Angeles

Now showing only 4,993 miles

Supplied with UK V5c and MOT until 20th July '18

From its original inception by H.F.S Morgan in 1911, the Morgan 3-Wheeler became an icon of the British motoring scene and was the mainstay of early production at the Malvern Link based firm. Early cars used proven motorcycle engines such as Anzani, J.A.P and Matchless resulting in spirited driving and ensuring the foundations of success for Morgan.

In 2011, the Morgan Motor Company launched an all-new 3-Wheeler at the Geneva Motor Show to a rapturous applause. Designed by Aero 8 innovator, Matt Humphries, the all-aluminium body echoed that of its predecessors and was fitted with a front-mounted S&S 1979cc V-Twin engine capable of propelling the car to 60mph in 6 seconds! A neatly designed cockpit with aircraft-style instrumentation gives drivers a sense of speed when ‘flying' down the road.
A collaboration between clothing brand Superdry and Morgan led to a special ‘Superdry Edition' in 2012 with these examples including many bespoke features such as orange-wall tyres, matt silver paintwork with decals, Superdry tarp quilted leather seats, a detailed filler cap, and a Tokyo Rally plate. In total, only 122 of these limited edition examples were built making them desirable cars today.

Offered here is a 2012 Superdry Edition Morgan 3-wheeler that was first used by Charles Morgan and his wife Kiera to do the 2012 Gumball Rally covering 3,000 miles from Coast to Coast across America in 5 days, with the aim being to demonstrate the reliability and viability of owning such an unconventional sports car. At the start on 25th May '12 in New York, the plucky car drew in the crowds and the Gumball Rally was go! The entire week's adventure with the car and its two ‘pilots' were captured in a short clip entitled ‘Spirit of the Gumball' which can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7L_2IcAMxec

After the rally, the car was wrapped in matt black with all new Gumball decals added before it was auctioned in 2013 at a charity event which raised money for the Tony Hawks Foundation and the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund. Our vendor was the lucky bidder that evening and now the car is offered for sale having covered only 4,993 miles from new.
Supplied with a UK V5c and an MOT until 20th July '18, this car is the perfect addition to any sports car collection and will provide the new owner with hours of aural enjoyment when you depress your right foot and hear that howling V-Twin roar into life!
