Top-grade restoration
Fast, good-handling, reliable
Known history

Of the 646 examples of the Morgan 4/4 Series V built, it is estimated that there are fewer than 300 survivors. The car presented here must count as one of the very best. Acquired in 2015 by the vendor, it has had only a handful of keepers, including the president of the Morgan Car Club of Washington DC, who owned the car for more than 20 years.
Sold new in Arlington, Virginia, the car spent all its life in the southern states until its purchase in 1991 by a marque enthusiast who used it regularly before embarking on a total restoration in 2011. With a modified 1750cc engine on twin Weber 40 DCOE carbs and a sports exhaust manifold, in place of the original 1500cc unit, the performance of this Moss-gearbox 4/4 is excellent. A new chassis has been fitted, and the fully reconditioned running gear – with uprated suspension, dampers and brakes – makes for superb handling and worry-free reliability. While the body is mostly original, the aluminium floors are new, as are the wiring loom and the Smiths instrumentation. Also new are the hood, sidescreens and tonneau cover.
Easy to get used to, the pleasure of driving the 4/4 is enhanced by the sound of the engine and the perfectly balance of its chassis. The Morgan accelerates crisply, brakes well, and can be placed accurately on the road thanks to the precision of its high-geared steering. On top of all this, it has an appeal and style that is quintessentially British. Winner of the Morgan Car Club’s prestigious Peter Morgan Award for best car, and 18 other trophies, the car comes with a thick file of bills, correspondence, articles, photos and notes, amassed by previous owners.

This car will be sold by auction by AGUTTES Auction House, in Paris, at the Espace Champerret, France, on June the 23th, 2019.
