We have a fully restored MG A 1600 on offer. As a consequence of the thorough restoration this car is in a wonderful condition. The restoration only finished in 2019 and that shows. The MG A has always been a firm favourite classic and is even better when fitted with the 1600 engine. The MG A was an immediate success on its introduction, having sporty road handling and a good price/ quality balance. Not much has changed in that aspect over the last 60 odd years. The bodywork is wonderful, the panelwork is nice and thin, the shut lines are, if possible, even better than when the car left the factory. The car has been re-sprayed in her original two-tone finish. The paintwork has a lovely deep lustre and looks the part. Thanks to the high standard of the applied paintwork, we expect that little will change in that aspect in the coming years. During the restoration a new Mohair hood was fitted. The hood is in perfect shape and shuts securely. The interior trim is also completely new. The black carpets and biscuit leather upholstery are in pristine condition. All the switches and dashboard instruments are in perfect good working order. Mechanically the car is as sound as it looks. The 1.6 litre engine has twin SU-carburettors and has been fully overhauled. During this process the oil cooler and radiator were upgraded (never a bad thing!). The suspension has new rubbers and shock breakers giving this MG impeccable driving manners. The gearbox shifts precisely with no play. The brakes also work perfectly and respond very well when foot pressure is applied. The whole restoration has been recorded by means of invoices and photographs.
