Description
"W111 was the code given to a range of Mercedes-Benz vehicles produced between 1959 and 1971. This range of cars can be considered an important part in the development history of the world class saloons and coupés produced by the Mercedes-Benz company of today. Introduced as inline six-cylinder cars with 2.2 litre engines, the W111 was the basis for a number of following models. In November 1967 the 280 SE was introduced. It was powered by the new 2778cc, which produced 160bhp at 5500rpm. This was a 10bhp improvement over the model it replaced. This new version also enjoyed improved acceleration of 0-62mph in 10.5 seconds (13 with automatic transmission). Inside, the car received a wood veneer option on the dashboard and other minor changes, including door lock buttons and different heater levers, and the exterior mirror was changed.
This elegant righthand drive 280 SE was supplied new on 19th September 1969. Presented in metallic sand with a pale grey interior, this Mercedes-Benz is in need of restoration. This hugely collectable model is presented to auction with a V5C registration document and various invoices and paperwork. This 280 SE offers fabulous value for money and viewing is certainly recommended. There is no reason to doubt the investment opportunity this model of Mercedes-Benz offers."
