Description

I offer this Mercedes 300S coupé for auction.

I am a private enthusiast and due to reduction of my collection, this car may be sold.
I offer this car as best I can, with honesty.

The car was delivered new to Mercedes Buenos Aires/Argentina on 18 08 1953 in the colour black, with leather upholstery in the colour beige brown 1066.

The car still has the correct chassis engine and bodywork number.
It was then sold after the first owner to a certain Alonso.

In the early 1990s, it came into the possession of a classic car enthusiast from Munich.
This enthusiast had it painted in 1992 in the colour DB350.
FRITS WALLNER, well-known from various oldtimer exhibitions, has mechanically upgraded it.

This car happened to be offered to an elderly person in Munich.
After negotiations, I bought it from him in 2009.

I did a small paint repair, fitted a new rear bumper and replaced a complete wiring harness.

Due to the poor condition of the headliner and carpet, have it reupholstered by a professional.

For more comfort, Power Steering, also known from various trade fairs, has invisibly mounted an electric steering wheel; the original steering rod is included, so that a possible original version is possible again.
As much as every car has its plus and minus points, I will list them here:

Flaws:
Radio - antenna is broken

Paint needs attention but is still beautiful

The underside of the bottom also needs some attention

Shifting from 1 to 4 and reverse gear works perfectly, but shifting from 3 to 2 is somewhat difficult.

To get a top finish, the woodwork can either be given a new veneer or varnished.

Most likely, the engine is leaking a little oil due to underuse of the car.

After the cons, there are the pros:

The electric steering box
Mounted 1-2-3 ignition, original is included

New wiring harness

Radio connection MP3 plug

Original luggage set

The car has been to a technical inspection today, with a daily inspection, which is stricter than an old-timer inspection (MOT).

The 300S is stored in a well-ventilated garage.

The car can be viewed and collected in Arendonk, Belgium. This Classic Car is for sale on Catawiki. To have more information or to place a bid click on the "BID NOW" button.
