Description
"The MX-5 was introduced in 1989 at the Chicago Motor Show. It was conceived as a small roadster with lightweight and minimal mechanical complexity limited only by legal and safety requirements; technologically modern, but a philosophically direct descendant of small British and Italian roadsters of the 1960’s such as the Triumph Spitfire, MGB and Alfa Romeo Spider. The first generation of MX-5’s sold over 400,000 units from 1989 through to 1997 and came fitted with a 1.6 litre engine. In Japan, the car was not badged as a Mazda as the company was experimenting with the creation of different marques for deluxe models, similar to Nissan's Infiniti and Toyota's Lexus. Instead, the Mazda MX-5 was sold as the Eunos Roadster in the home market.
This Mazda MX-5 Roadster was imported into the UK in 2008 and is described by the vendor as being 'great fun' to drive. Fitted with automatic transmission, electric windows, power steering and air conditioning, this MX-5 is a good specification example. The car has recently benefitted from a service which included a new cambelt and four new tyres. Finished in red with black seats, the car is supplied with a V5C registration document and a valid MoT test certificate. Offered for sale at no reserve."
