Description
NO RESERVE
VIN No. T4DCYBL416499
Engine Type: 911
Sold new in France in 1982, a second series Sunbeam Lotus still with French number plates and documents. Belonged to a French Talbot Sunbeam Lotus collector, and fitted with a front roll bar as it was used in both sporting and branded events. Travelled just over 43,000 km from new.
Embassy black with silver side stripes and Lotus logo, a popular colour on the first series, but rarer on the second. Original paintwork in surprisingly good condition despite the years. Mounted with rare PLS France detachable rims. Apart from the addition of the front roll bar, it has not undergone any bodywork modifications. Specific interior with Recaro velvet front seats and matching rear seats; supplied with Recaro driver’s seat and a Sparco racing seat currently mounted on the driver's side. 4-point front seat belts.
2.2 Lotus engine not blocked; despite standing still for several years the engine oil is not old as well as the coolant and other fluids. The few kilometres travelled are evident in many parts of the car. Having stood still for several years, it needs a general mechanical overhaul and fine-tuning in order to be fully enjoyed.
An icon for Rally enthusiasts, it lends itself perfectly to being restored or prepared for historic rallies. The 2.2 16-valve engine can be easily tuned up to 250hp, which the ZF transmission handles smoothly. Put back on the road it will offer the exciting performance that only a car tuned by Lotus can guarantee – docile, powerful and precise to drive, light with rear-wheel drive. If required, standard seats available and sold separately in the rare Piccadilly striped fabric on a black base and standard alloy wheels.
The car must be picked up from the province of Pescara.
