Description

This is a 1993 Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione, a car made to homologate Lancia’s WRC Delta. Just by looking at it the intentions are clear. It’s powered by a 16-valve 4-cylinder DOHC 2-litre turbocharged engine that produces 210hp.
This example is in great condition and features a small number of modifications that the previous owner made to give it a more personalised look. It has aftermarket carbon mirrors, OZ Racing wheels and exhaust, parts that don’t diminish the classic Delta look. Inside the shift knob was changed and carbon panels were fitted but the seats remain original. The car comes with the original mirrors and shift knob and an additional set of aftermarket wheels.
The Lancia Delta was launched in 1979 as an ordinary family hatchback but it made its history in rallying. First was the rear-wheel drive Group B Delta S4 but then came the more successful Group A Delta. Group B regulations ended in 1986 as the cars became increasingly powerful and more dangerous, as a result Group A was created and Lancia with their new Delta won not just the first year with the new regulations, but also the following 5 years as well. This record of 6 consecutive constructors’ championships remains unbeaten to this day, the Delta is the most successful car and Lancia the most successful manufacturer in WRC history.
The Delta was also famously designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Italdesign, who also designed the first generation VW Golf. While similar in shape and size, the Delta was drawn with a more daring and innovative design which even helped it win the 1980 European Car of the Year award.
The Evoluzione version transformed the family hatch into an actual WRC car with distinct boxy wheel arches and numerous vents. Chassis rigidity was also increased so it didn’t just receive visual changes. These cars are now very sought after and it’s reflected in their increasing values. They are rally fans’ dream cars with an iconic look and real rally pedigree.
