Finished in Fern Grey over Cinnamon, the same colour scheme it wears today, and sporting the four-speed manual gearbox, air-conditioning, and option chrome disc wheels, this Series 3 E-Type Roadster was produced by Jaguar in April of 1974 and destined for the Canadian market. The car’s first owner was Bill O’Brien of Willowdale, Ontario, a neighborhood on the north side of Toronto. Amazingly, the car would be retained by him for over forty years. Two years ago, the car was acquired by the consignor from Bill O’Brien and shipped to the U.K. where it resides today. Importantly, the car has not been reregistered, allowing its next owner to become this E-Type’s second registered custodian in its forty-six year life.

Arguably one of the most well-preserved Series 3 E-Types in existence, this car is incredibly well documented from throughout its life, including its original service book, original sales invoice, previous invoices, owner’s identicard, and a previous appraisal, all confirming the car’s remarkably original condition and verified mileage of 8,472 miles at the time of cataloging. The car's mileage is further verified by a signed delcaration from Mr. O'Brien to the consignor upon his purchase in 2018. Never having been restored or even painted according to the original owner, the accompanying Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate confirms that the car is presented just as it was delivered and still retains its original engine.

According to the consignor, the car is presented today in running and driving condition, although it is advised that the car undergo some recommissioning of expendable components such as hoses and belts prior to regular road use, should its next owner so desire. The consignor further states that the panel gaps and door shut quality are superb and representative of how Jaguar built the car. The body and soft top seals remain remarkably well preserved, as does the soft top, seats, and carpets. The car even still retains its original radio. Furthermore, it is important to note that the car was recently fitted with European-specification chrome over-riders, while the North American spec over-riders can be reinstalled if desired, the bumpers have not been changed and remain original.

Truly remarkable in every way, this E-Type is worthy of inclusion in any Jaguar collection worldwide due to its remarkable unrestored and unmolested condition and single-owner history. Simply stated, an opportunity like this will not present itself again.
