The "Hino Contessa" was introduced in 1961 as the first independently developed four-wheeled passenger car after being licensed as the "Hino Renault". The "Hino Briska" was sold as a pickup truck in the same year. In the 1960s, pickup trucks with a bonnet and a loading platform behind the cabin were popular. Among them, the "Nissan Datsun Truck" was overwhelmingly popular.

In order to compete with the Datsun truck, Hino upgraded the engine of the Briska to a more powerful 1300cc model and increased the load capacity to 1 tonne. The front part has a Contessa design, making it a model that is highly practical and attractive.

This particular model is the FH100 type. The odometer displays 34,476 km. Both the interior and exterior have deteriorated over time. The original owner was likely a fisherman, as the body is adorned with stickers from Wakayama City central Wholesale Market.

The engine does not run and requires full recommissioning before it is usable. As this car is a 1965 model, it is from before the sales rights were transferred to Toyota in October 1966. Toyota made many changes and started selling the truck as the Toyota Briska. As such, this can be considered as a highly collectible vehicle.
