The General Motors Corporation introduced the "Advance Design” Pick-Up line in 1947 to meet the growing demand in post-war America. Offered with a straight six cylinder engine with a displacement of 5.5 litre, driven through either a three or four speed manual gearbox, and a number of different wheelbase options.
The version on offer is very special indeed in that it has been heavily modified. Based on a 1952 car, the original engine was replaced by a small block Oldsmobile V8 unit with a displacement of 5,7 litres and a power output of some 300 bhp, propelling the rear wheels through a three speed automatic gearbox.
