In 1932, Ford introduced the Model B. Strictly speaking the Model B was, as a four-cylinder car, the direct successor to the Ford Model A. It sported new styling, however, and was produced alongside a very similar car featuring Ford's new Flathead V-8 engine; this latter car was marketed as the Model 18, though it is commonly called the “Ford V-8” today. Notably, this was a departure from tradition for Ford—the automaker had previously marketed one basic model at a time.

These new models were offered in a wide range of body styles, including two attractive coupes: The Five-Window (two door windows, two rear quarter windows, and the rear window), and the Three-Window, which featured front-opening “suicide” doors. As buyers were drawn to the prospect of affordable V-8 power, the inline-four Model B versions of each were less popular when new, and are consequently much rarer today.

This attractive 1932 Model B DeLuxe Five-Window Coupe is fine example of an unmodified, correct original car that is said to retain its original all-steel body. A favorite hot rodder’s choice, many of these iconic “Deuce Coupe” models have been chopped and extensively customized over the last 75-plus years, making an unaltered car such as this example increasingly difficult to find—particularly in four-cylinder configuration.

Said to be the beneficiary of an exacting five-year restoration, this Ford presents nicely in period-correct maroon with black fenders. Its tan cloth inter interior features an elegant wood-grained dash and interior door frames, while exterior detailing includes wide white-wall tires mounted on 18-inch wire wheels with wide whitewall tires, dual cowl lights and tail lights, correct lightbar and headlamps, exterior-mounted spare tire, as well as the classic rumble seat.
