The Ford Capri was presented at the Brussels Motor Show in 1969. As soon as it was launched, it was possible to choose between several engines. In Germany the customer is offered five: three V4 (1300, 1500, 1700 cm³) and two V6 engines (2000 or 2300 cm³). In the United Kingdom, the range was initially limited to two in-line 4-cylinder engines (1300 or 1600 cm³) and one V4 (2000 cm³). From autumn 1969, a new 3000 version, equipped with the V6 of the old Ford Zodiac, completed the British range. The Ford catalog offers no less than seven levels of finish. By combining options and engines - the 1700, 2000 and 2300 versions are automatically equipped with a more complete ""GT"", while the standard Capri, with a simplified presentation. Appearance,
In the autumn of 1970 the 2600 GT appeared, a sportier version equipped with a 2600 cm³ injection engine developing 125 HP. From the RS 2600 base, Ford Cologne and several French and German tuners develop a race car homologated in group 2, allowing itself to win twice the European Group 2 Championship, twice the 24 Hours of Francorchamps and even win its class at Le Mans 1972.
The model we are presenting belongs to the same family since 1973, the year the car was registered. It is a 1600GT with a 1600cm3 inline 4 cylinder. The car is presented in its strict original condition. The interior is in very good condition. The original paint is of a nice quality and can be kept that way. The current owners have taken care to maintain this car that belonged to the family's great-uncle. The mechanics will need to be adjusted to take full advantage of the car's capabilities. This car is therefore a real opportunity to acquire a very nice Capri model, in perfect original condition and whose price is constantly rising. On the circuit vibrators or on the small national roads, it's up to you to choose its new playground. "
