Estimated value: 10 000-15 000 złoty
Model History
The car was manufactured from 1967 to 1991 under Fiat’s licence by Passenger Automobile Factory in Warsaw, commonly known as FSO. After the licence expired in 1983, its name was changed to FSO 125p. The car was billed as a successor to the Warszawa 223/224. It was propelled by 1,3 and 1,5-litre petrol-powered straight four cylinder engines, some were also fitted with diesel-powered engines and petrol-powered with double overhead camshaft. Fiat 125p was available in three body styles: 4-door saloon, estate and a pickup. Its successor, the Polonez, was launched in 1978. Overall 1 445 699 examples of the 125p were made, of which 874 966 were exported.
Vehicle History
Fiat 125p offered by the vintage and classic car auction company Ardor Auctions is without doubt a car with an interesting ownership history. It’s been in the hands of a single owner since it was first purchased in 1975. Its owner kept a record of all maintenance tasks that he performed. To eliminate visual imperfections, like dents and scratches, the body was refreshed using methods from the period. That, combined with patina on the inside gives the car a distinct aura and reminds one of the days of Polish People's Republic. The original 1.3 litre was replaced with a 1.5 litre unit, but it is included in the sale. The Fiat is still being driven and has a valid Polish MOT. It is also distinguished by black number plates, which are no longer in use in Poland and show that the car has been in the hands of just one owner since new.
