Description

The 512 BBi was first launched at the Frankfurt Salon in 1981 and was the final variant of the Berlinetta Boxer model, with the “i” standing for iniezione, Italian for injection. The BBi saw upgrades to the styling with a redesigned front and rear bumper, engine louvre arrangements and wing mirrors. The engine too had been upgraded to a Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection system, offering increased reliability and a better balance of drivability and performance.

Ferrari produced a total of 1,007 BBis with just 37 of those being UK supplied, right-hand drive examples, making our car extremely rare. In its final year of production in 1984, only 141 BBis left the assembly line with 8 of those being destined for the UK market.

Chassis no. 049891 was originally ordered by Lancaster Garages in Colchester but was supplied new to its first owner, a Mr P. Dodds through Reg Vardy Ltd in August 1984. Maintained impeccably well with over £30,000 spent on it in the last 10 years alone and is offered fresh from a comprehensive service at marque specialists Bob Houghton Ltd.

Within its accompanying history file, there is the original order form, factory invoice plus MOTs that date back to 1989. In addition, the car still retains its original service/warranty booklet, owner's manual, pouch, tool kit, jack plus the factory polythene on the door sills!

One of the lowest mileage examples in existence and represents fantastic value for money.
