Unveiled at the Palais du Cinquantenaire in Brussels in 1992, the Ferrari 456 GT is a 2+2 grand touring coupe with a V12 front longitudinal engine. It takes its name from the unit cylinder capacity of 456 cc. With a design by Pininfarina, the lines of the aluminum bodywork are reminiscent of the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona. The long hood with retractable headlights, the tailgate and the interior envelope are the witnesses. Heir to the lineage of the 2+2 with front engine, the 456 is more sporty than the old 365 GT4/400/412. Its lines give it a rather Berlinetta spirit. At the beginning, the car was equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox (with the typical Ferrari grid) in the rear position, glued to the differential, giving the car an almost perfect balance that can be felt when driving. From 1996, a 4-speed automatic gearbox will be offered in addition to the manual. In addition, an ABS system will be standard on the car, ABS that can be disconnected manually, as well as a system of controlled suspensions with 3 positions (soft, normal and hard). As for the 5.5L V12 with dual camshafts and 4 valves per cylinder, it develops 442 horsepower and 550 nm of torque. The car will also be equipped with a carbon hood, a grille reminiscent of the 512 TR, side vents to evacuate hot air from the engine and a spoiler housed in the stern that deploys according to the speed of the vehicle. Mixing elegance and discretion, this 2+2 has a leather upholstery with a modern and sporty looking steering wheel.
This magnificent Ferrari 456 has covered only 21,000 kilometers since leaving the factory in Italy. Its ""Tour de France Blue"" color highlights its beige leathers in a very nice original condition. Its exterior is very clean and the engine starts without any problem. However, a mechanical revision is to be expected, as well as the timing belts to be replaced so that you can take the road without any problem. The 456 is probably the best way to access the Ferrari V12 myth for a reasonable price and that's before its price explodes."
