At the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1985, the 328 succeeded the 308 in Ferrari’s range of mid-rear engined berlinettas. The appearance of the 328 was completely revised, with bumpers which were more attractive and better integrated than those fitted to the 308. The interior was brought up to date, with a new design of better-quality leather upholstery. Its V8 developed 270bhp and was accompanied by a soundtrack which was all the more impressive as drivers could enjoy it with the wind in their hair. On the road, the Ferrari’s handling was particularly good and today it is much sought after by collectors for its sporting character and absence of electronic aids. In all, 6068 examples of the 328 GTS came off the lines at Maranello. Values of this iconic model have soared in recent years and demand for the 328 has consistently remained strong, thanks to its styling and the undeniable quality of its handling.

Our car is a GTS version built in 1986. It is presented in the classic ‘Rosso Corsa’ with a black leather interior and black carpets in very good condition. Its current owner purchased it from the well-known specialist Officina Valenti in Utrecht at the end of 2013. According to its service book – a replacement supplied by Officina Valenti – the car had covered 35,105km (21,813 miles) at the time of its purchase; since then, it has added a little over 2200km (1400 miles). Although the bodywork and interior are in fine condition, it is the car’s excellent handling which surprises the most. Modern to drive and in the way it reacts, it gives the impression of soaking up the miles at a rapid pace while treating its passengers with care. It is a true GT with current levels of performance. The removable roof panel really adds to the pleasure offered by the car and even provides a little more headroom for tall passengers. With a low mileage, well presented and fully serviced for the sale, this Ferrari 328 GTS has a lot to offer.
