This beautiful example of the Elva 100 was sold from the Hastings factory to “J. Smith” as an export specification car and shipped to the United States. The car still retains it export specification wheels. It was brought back to the United Kingdom by John Harper in 1981 and later sold to P. Bowker in 1983. Chassis 29 then crossed the pond again with Alessandro Ripamont, and from Italy moved to Switzerland to the ownership of Colin Ruffell. Colin then moved to Australia and so the car raced there until yet again returning to the United Kingdom via Chris Alford. The car changed ownership again to John Quenby CEO of the MSA, who raced the car extensively across Europe who then sold the car to Mike Ketcher in 2004. Mike embarked on a rebuild of which there is a photographic record. The rebuild included the Swiftune engine and a new roll bar.
