Description

1910 DARRACQ RRX 14/16HP DOUBLE PHAÉTON

French title
Chassis n° 19447
Engine n° 24398

- Very nice bodywork
- Well-built and a successful model
- Prestigious brand

The Darracq firm was one of the great brands of the early 20th century and left a lasting mark on European automotive heritage, being at the origin of the Alfa Romeo, Opel and Talbot marques. It is funny to note that Alexandre Darracq, the founder of the brand, never had a driving license...
The beautiful double phaeton that we are offering previously belonged to an important collection from the Saône et Loire region, which was dispersed in April 1994. It was on this occasion that it was acquired by Paul Thanry, whose purchase had the honors of a feature in La Vie de l’Auto with a photograph featured when the results were published.
This beautiful example has benefited from an old restoration, some details of which can be taken up, but is generally well preserved. The original beautiful black leather upholstery has been partially preserved, including the stunning spun leather door panels featuring the brand's emblem. As it has not been driven for more than ten years, the mechanicals, which are not blocked, will need a restart, and the car needs a general overhaul. Two savvy collectors have successively taken care of this Darracq, it now deserves to find a new enthusiast who will help it find its way back onto the road.
