Description
"The Chevrolet Corvette is instantly recognisable by the marque aficionado and non-aficionado alike. The first model, a convertible, was designed by Harley Earl and introduced at the GM Motorama in 1953 as a concept show car. Originally built in Flint, Michigan and St. Louis, Missouri, the Corvette today is manufactured in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The third generation Corvette, the C3, was designed along the lines of the Mako Shark II concept car and was introduced for the 1968 model year continuing in production until 1982. Engines and chassis components were mostly carried over from the C2 but the body and interior were all new.
The example offered here is from the last year of the convertible C3 production run. A previous custodian owned the car for 31 years before it was acquired by its last vendor and subsequently imported to the UK in January 2017. Now with its current vendor the Corvette has been treated to much maintenance and restoration work. The interior is very pleasant and the paintwork is in excellent condition having recently been treated to an extensive repaint. Fitted with a Chevrolet stereo and a meaty quad exhaust system, this C3 is both fast and loud! Offered in a very desirable colour combination of metallic blue over a black interior the Corvette comes from the current vendors private collection and has a history file containing the V5 registration document, old MoT records, photographs of the extensive repaint, and various sundry invoices.
